STephen R. Sasala Community Partnership Scholarship


The  2022 application submission is now closed.


The Stephen R. Sasala II Community Partnership Scholarship is in the memory of the late Stephen R. Sasala (former Main Street Waterbury Board Chairman) and his legacy as a partnership builder and community leader. 


Eligibility:

  • Student must major in any one field of Political Science, Economics, Sociology, or Urban Studies. 
  • Be a high school senior, residing in the Greater Waterbury area, and attend one of the following schools Crosby, Kennedy, Wilby, Waterbury Arts Magnet, WF Kaynor Tech, Waterbury Career Academy, Holy Cross, Naugatuck, Wolcott, Watertown, Pomperaug, Woodland, or Nonnewaug.     


In addition to qualifying to the above requirements, students must also enclose:      

  • High School transcripts (students must possess a GPA of a 3.0 or higher)     
  • List of leadership, community activities (describing any leadership roles) and work experience     
  • Two letters of recommendation    
  •  One question answered as their essay of choice
  • Due back postmarked by Friday, May 6, 2022
