Our program follows the Main Street, Four-Point Approach of Design, Economic Vitality, Organization and Promotion. The Four-Point Approach is the foundation for local initiatives to revitalize their districts by leveraging local assets - from cultural or architectural heritage to local enterprises and community pride. Developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the program is supported in our state by the Connecticut Main Street Center.
To advocate, educate, and collaborate for the revitalization and enhancement of downtown Waterbury following the Main Street Four-Point Approach.
Our Vision
Downtown Waterbury as an easily accessible business center and neighborhood in which to live, work, shop and play.
Our mission is largely dependent upon our volunteers, supporters, and public and private partnerships. Volunteers can serve in a number of capacities, from offering professional services, serving on our committees, sponsoring beautification programs and events to helping us at our fundraising events such as the Brass City Brew & Que and Wine on Main Street.
Whatever you can contribute to our efforts, we’re thrilled to have your help! For more information on how to volunteer, or what you can do to help us spread our mission contact us at (203) 757-0701 Ext.302. We are so appreciative of the thousands of hours that our volunteers have donated and contributed over the years.
Your support and contributions will enable us to continue to support the mission to breathe renewed community engagement and economic vitality within downtown Waterbury. The vision is to create an "easily accessible business center and neighborhood in which to "live, play and work" and shop and dine!
Eversource will resume work on the gas distribution system on Bank Street the week of April 11, 2022.

Since the March 2020 "Stay Safe, Stay Home" Executive Order (No 7J) by Governor Ned Lamont , several updates and phases of re-opening Connecticut have allowed many of our downtown businesses to re-open safely following guidelines. While many corporate and government organizations have chosen to allow their employees to work from home, others have enabled a return to work staggered schedule allowing many of the downtown businesses to continue to operate in adjusted methods. For current updates, please read the guidelines from DECD.
All of our downtown businesses require a face covering such as a face mask covering nose, mouth and chin when entering. Please respect their requirement, they are simply following guidelines to remain open and help stop in the spread of COVID-19.
