Chalk it up to experience! Main St. Waterbury with the Northwest CT Convention and Visitor's Bureau and CPTV invites your students to use their imagination and chalk up the Waterbury Green at the 4th Annual Downtown Draw on Saturday, October 4, 2008 9AM-1:00PM! Each team will create a chalk mural the day of the event. (Teams can be 1 to 5 participants) West Side Middle School in Waterbury currently holds the winning trophy! Your school can bring home the trophy, prizes and notoriety if one of your teams wins the 2008 Downtown Draw.
In support of Ken Burns' new PBS series about World War II, in which Waterbury is featured, we are asking school teams to create their squares based on the theme of "Positive Homefront Images of WWII." This exciting event will provide a large public forum to showcase your students' artistic talents and take pride in representing their school in this friendly competition. Chalk will be provided to use on the day of the event but please feel free to bring supplemental supplies. All participants will receive a Downtown Draw t-shirt.
